henri edion (1905-1987)
Edion was born in Vienna, Austria in 1905.
Whilst in a Nazi concentration camp he was encouraged to paint by a fellow prisoner, the German Expressionist Gert Wollheim.
After the war Edion studied in Paris. He and his wife went on to live and work in many locations including Indo-China, Australia, Italy, America and eventually settling in England.
One-Man exhibitions included those at Juster Gallery, New York 1958, William H Schab Gallery, New York 1961 and Crane Kalman Gallery 1962, and after his death Edion was shown at this gallery in 1993.
